  • Avizo - segmenting >100 separate materials

    Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the most appropriate place for asking questions about Avizo but I'm at a loss so I thought I might try.

I have tomo scans of several crystals that all have >100 inclusions in them. I would like to separately segment each of these inclusions into their own material but I can't find a way to do this efficiently. Currently I am using the magic wand tool to threshold to each inclusions (most have varying absorptions) and then adding it, smoothing it, and double checking it fits but this is taking forever... Is there a way to streamline this process?? I'm new to avizo so I'm not sure if there is a hidden tool I don't know about. Or perhaps I should try write a python code for that (I don't know python but willing to learn if it will save me a few months of work!!) or perhaps set up a recipe??

Any suggestions will be extremely appreciated!

    Kind regards,
    Corin

    Hi Corin,
Sorry, we're mostly Open Inventor users here. :-) The customer hotline could be an option: [email protected]
