  • Why my project(win10 64bit + vs2010 + openinventor9.2.3x86_64) failed to initiate

    I created a MFC SDI(single document) under Windows 10 X64, vs2010 and used OIV9.2.3X86_64 as rendering tool.

I can start the project(or exe) normally in Release mode. However, when I started the project in Debug mode, an error occurred: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b), please...., as shown in attachment.

Only when I remove all OIV-related code can the projected be started in Debug mode. So I think the reasons to this problems is project setting which can't find OIV's libs. But I've checked all settings for many times and found nothing wrongs, and I search a lot of instrument from Web but no ways took effect.

I don't know why the project running in Debug mode can cause such error, but I need Debug mode urgently. If any help, Very appreciated!

I was not able to reproduce this, but I remember seeing the same problem in the past.

I think (but I'm not sure) that the problem was putting both the Open Inventor release DLL directory AND the Open Inventor debug DLL directory in the system PATH variable. Theoretically this should work since the debug DLLs have slightly different names. But my recollection is that putting only the Open Inventor debug DLL directory in PATH allowed debug mode applications to run.

    Hope that helps.
